Your eyes require special care and attention just like the other parts of your body.
If you care about your eyes, do the following things to maintain good eye health.
Eat good food
The food you eat plays a huge role in your eye health. Your eyes always require nutrients and vitamins like Omega-3, Beta-carotene, Lycopene, Lutein, and Vitamins C, A, and E.
Eat a lot of fish like tuna, and salmon. Also eat eggs, spinach, and collard greens to have healthy eyes.
Smoking is not only bad for your lungs, but it hurts your eyes. Smoking affects the nerves that allow blood flow to the eyes. It also causes cataracts and macular degeneration.
Going out with glasses helps to prevent exposure to ultraviolet rays of the sun. Make sure you go out wearing your sunglasses to protect your eyes and prevents inflammation and other eye conditions.
Reduce screen time
In normal light, the light from your phone or laptop might not be so harmful. But I spoke to a doctor, Abdul Zubair, about the effect of continued phone use. He said using your phone or laptop under low light can worsen your eyes conditions by causing them to age.
As a rule, take regular breaks from your phone or laptop screen because of the blue light it emits.
Wash your hands before touching your eyes or avoid touching your eyes.
Touching your eyes with dirty hands can cause you to contract diseases like the cold, flu or have pink eyes. So always wash your hands and avoid using them to itch your eyes.
Do all these and go for regular check-ups to always keep your eyes in perfect condition.
