Eyewitnesses suspect that the driver lost control of the vehicle after a brake failure while descending a hill at the Akrodie Junction along the Kukuom-Goaso Road.

The injured players are currently receiving treatment at the Goaso Government Hospital while the body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue of the same hospital.

This is the second time that a juvenile football team has been involved in a fatal accident in less than a year.
