A pitched battle between fans of Benfica and Dynamo Kiev, who met yesterday in the last match of the group stage of the Champions League in Lisbon, resulted in 54 arrested and 12 injured.
According to sources from the PSP confirmed to EFE, among the 54 detainees, whose nationalities have not been provided, there were a dozen injured who had to be treated in different hospitals in the Portuguese capital and who have already been discharged.
The event took place in the vicinity of the State of Luz, where a pitched battle began between swollen paths. When the agents came to break up the fights, all kinds of material was thrown from the public thoroughfare, especially stones and signs.
To dissolve the pitched battle, the PSP agents had to shoot into the air, as can be seen in the videos that have been released in some local media. During the riots, no police officer was injured.
The Portuguese security forces will transfer all the detainees this morning to testify before the judge at the Lisbon Court.
