UFOs spotted by the US Navy that were subject to a recent investigation by the Pentagon use technologies “we don’t understand” a leading space engineer has said.
A long-awaited official report commissioned by the US government into Unidentified Flying Objects which was released towards the end of last month revealed that the country’s intelligence community has no explanation for 143 sightings – and can’t rule out that they were aliens.
The bombshell study – ordered by Congress just before President Donald Trump was booted out of office – documented 11 UAP near-misses reported by pilots and a small number of cases in which military aircraft “processed radio frequency energy associated with UAP sightings”.
These sightings caused a huge stir across the world and led many to believe Earth has already been visited by extraterrestrials.
And now, Professor Madhu Thanavelu, of USC’s Department of Astronomical Engineering has told the BBC the footage captured “is real” and that the vehicles do things our technology “won’t allow”.
Professor Thanavelu said: “This particular report is underwhelming,. We expected that.
“Many of us expect there is a lot more going on that we are not privy to.
“It is real. These objects are not hallucinations by our professional pilots because they are trained to observe.”
He added: “Are these alien objects? As in truly extraterrestrial visitations. Very hard to tell.
“These objects show flight dynamics and physics that we don’t understand.
“That we don’t use in our technologies, our technologies won’t allow us to fluff body vehicles, that is not aerodynamic vehicles, at extreme rates of speed and very quick maneuvers and shifting speeds and, most of all, the disappearing from sight or transforming from an aircraft into a submersible without even a splash.”
With many people now thinking the planet has been visited by aliens, Professor Thanavelu also dropped the bombshell that NASA is expecting to find life in the universe in the not-too-distant future.
He said: “As our telescopes grow better and our sensitivities grow better we are going to see some sign of living things.
“NASA scientists think that in the next 30 or40 years, we will have pinned down life in the universe.
“We may need help from our rivals to make some conclusions on this matter.”
The Pentagon UAP report marked a turned point for the US government after the military spent decades deflecting, debunking and discrediting observations of unidentified flying objects and “flying saucers” backing back to the 1940s.
It includes some UAP cases that previously came to light in the Pentagon’s release of video from naval aviators showing enigmatic aircraft off the US East and West Coasts exhibiting speed and manoeuvrability exceeding known aviation technologies and lacking any visible means of propulsion or flight-control surfaces.
All but one of the listed sightings – an instance attributed to a large, deflating balloon – remain unexplained, subject to further analysis, the report said.
