actress and entrepreneur Tracey Boakye has gone hard on the management of the Film Producers Association of Ghana FIPAG for their decision to suspend her due to her rant on social media with Mzbel.
FIPAG released a statement signed by its president, James Aboagye on Monday indicating that Tracey Boakye has been suspended over her conduct on social media recently.
Part of the statement read:
“FIPAG has suspended Miss Tracey Boakye over her use of vulgar words on social media recently. She is not supposed to take part in any activities during this period until the situation is reviewed.
“FIPAG wishes to render an unqualified apology to the general public and the man involved for her behavior as that display of character does not represent what the film industry stands for or wishes to propagate. We wish that Ghanaians will find a space in their hearts to forgive her.”
the actress, in response to this, has also come out hard on Jame Aboagye and the Film Producers Association of Ghana as a whole in a newly released video; stressing they have no right to ban her since she is not a member of their group.
“It’s been past 8 years since I started movie production and you’ve never promoted me on any of your platforms. I’m not a part of you and everybody knows I am an independent movie producer,” said Tracey in the video.
“Do you people even know me or you want to use this opportunity to trend? You boldly told me I am not a member and would not be allowed to vote before electing your new leaders so how do you come in here? I am even surprised you could even issue this statement.”
Tracey Boakye added that the FIPAG has never been supportive and never treated her right so they have no right to place a ban on her. she stressed that the organization should rather concentrate on the dying movie industry in trying to revive it.
